I really want to like this light, but it's absolutely terrible. The hardware is great: the light, when it works, has excellent brightness, and can be adjusted to many different light levels and from warm (reddish) to cool (bluish). It's very easy to install. It has an app you can use to control it remotely.
However, actual operation is bad. Turning the power off and on (as is normal with an overhead light that has a switch in the room) usually causes the light to fully reset and go back to full brightness. Half the time, the remote simply doesn't work at all, even with brand-new batteries. There's frequently weird delays in operation.
For a different room, I bought some cheap, no-name non-WiFi lamp with remote control, and it's amazing how much better it works compared to this expensive, fancy SwitchBot light. The cheapo light works similarly from the remote, but when you turn off the power at the switch, and then turn it on again later, it comes back at exactly the same settings you last used. There's no weird delays in operation: everything is almost instant. And the cheap, no-name light cost a small fraction as much.
Whoever designed the hardware for this SwitchBot light seems to have done an admirable job. However, I suspect SwitchBot's software for this light was written by someone utterly incompetent at developing embedded software.
I cannot recommend this light at all.
